License to Kill - Complete Fatality Trainer

The only purpose I have found for the Fatality Trainer is that not only do you earn the License to Kill Trophy/Achievement but also if it's your very first time playing a Mortal Kombat title it's a good way to learn how to perform different fighters fatalities. The only advice that I can provide here is that if you are having a difficult time pulling off a certain fighters fatality use the Fatality Trainer as a way to learn it. The Fatality Trainer will show you exactly where to stand and also displays the code input for you at the top of the screen. I kind of thought that by performing a fatality in the Fatality Trainer that I would have gotten the Fatality! Trophy/Achievement but it doesn't count.

A For Effort - Complete Tutorial Mode

Although how to acquire this Trophy/Achievement is quite obvious there are a couple of things that I would like to note here.

First off if this is your first time ever playing a Mortal Kombat title then this may be one of the very first modes you may want to play through first as it goes through the basics of Mortal Kombat.

There are a total of 15 tutorials in Tutorial Mode. They are as follows:

Tutorial #1
Basic Movement
Tutorial #2
Avoiding Opponent's Attacks
Tutorial #3
Basic Attacks & Blocking
Tutorial #4
Basic Kombos
Tutorial #5
Throws
Tutorial #6

Sonya Blade Vs. Sektor

Defeat Opponent
Air Throw
Away Throw
Towards Throw

Tutorial #7
Special Moves Part 1
Tutorial #8
Special Moves Part 2
Tutorial #9
Special Moves Part 3
Tutorial #10
Enhanced Moves Part 1
Tutorial #11
Enhanced Moves Part 2
Tutorial #12
Breakers & X-Ray Attacks
Tutorial #13
Tags Part 1
Tutorial #14
Tags Part 2
Tutorial #15

Kung Lao & Johnny Cage Vs. Sektor & Sonya Blade

Breaker
4-Hit Kombo
Enhanced Move
Tag Special
Tag Assist

The second thing that I would like to note is that once you get to Tutorial #15 there is a chance of earning another Trophy/Achievement. If you are able to connect with a Fast Tag Kombo there is a chance that you will get the Tag, You're It! Trophy/Achievement. Don't worry if you don't get it as there will be plenty of other opportunities to earn it later.

Where To Begin??

If this is the first Mortal Kombat game that you have played ever then my suggestion would be to go through the two tutorial modes so that you get a better feeling for the game. You'll even pick up a few Trophies/Achievements along the way. If you start off by playing the Tutorial on the basics of Mortal Kombat you can very easily get a couple of Trophies/Achievements here. The following two are:

  • A For Effort - Complete Tutorial Mode
  • Tag, You're It! - Perform and land a Tag Combo

Two other modes that I would recommend would be Story Mode as you'll unlock two more playable characters as you progress through this mode. I would also like to mention that by completing Story Mode you'll earn up to four Trophies/Achievements here also. One last thing is that as you are playing through Story Mode after finishing each fight you are awarded a good amount of Kombat Koins that can be used later when you decide to start unlocking the different items inside The Krypt.

The other mode that I'd like to recommend playing first is the Challenge Tower. First off for every challenge completed you are awarded a good amount of Kombat Koins. Second of all by completing Challenge Tower you will earn alot of Trophies/Achievements along the way!
